Captain Karnooba presents The Secret Outer Space Radio Hour

A program of Eclectic Roots Music and Old Time Country and Western with threads of jazz and blues. The Captain delivers his smooth, lonesome vocals alongside guitar with rhythmic drive, bluesy harmonica, and intricate ukulele tunes. The Radio Hour features story songs, songs of riding the waves, and riding the range, grand slams and hard knocks. Each new episode balances moments of dark honesty with lightness and humor.

Captain Karnooba (AKA The Mad Whistler) is a Michigan-based multi-instrumentalist dedicated to the folk tradition, improvisation, and the decoration of space-time. His variety show-inspired broadcasts are grounded in old poems, while looking forward to a future in space – a future of abundant sandwiches.

Captain Karnooba is also half of the Ann Arbor-based indie-folk vocal harmony duo Gingersmack!
