my salamander makes playful, intricate art-pop, inhabiting the interstices between indie-rock, folk, classical, improvisational, and electronic music. They approach composing with a strong commitment to mutualism—finding alternative pathways that highlight their diverse artistic skillsets. Collectively, they craft a kaleidoscopic sound authentic to each of them and larger than any of them.

my salamander met as students at the University of Michigan and have collaborated on numerous projects including multimedia slime-mold music, queercore punk-rock, contemporary-classical chamber works, immersive silent-disco soundscapes, aleatoric “game pieces”, microwave-techno, and various solo projects. They continue to perform in bars, concert halls, churches, abandoned paper mills, and fertile marshes, bringing their “first-class musical chops” (A2 Pulp) to every performance.
