Like a lot of people, Nathan Emmet is a fan of Debussy, Miles Davis, Nick Drake, and Nujabes. But then, you might ask, who out there is trying to mash all those kinds of rich, flowy-type jazz sounds into hazy folk music? As far as I know, not many, but he is. Without being overly bummed out or jolly-ho, a lot of his songs are dream-like but singable tunes that like to go in unexpected directions, kind of the way dreams do. After 15 years of writing and performing, Ypsi native Nathan Emmet is a hometown DIY guy that you'll see and hopefully say, "Oh yeah, I've seen that guy walking around before. I didn't know he makes pretty ok music, too.
